It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me and because of that the number of times I post a week has dropped like a rock. It’s not that I don’t have anything to write about or the time to write it’s just that most of the content I can’t post until it’s been sent to print. ‘Sent to print’ you ask? Yes, sent to print. A few posts back I told y’all that an article I’d written had been published in a local magazine, Alcoholmanac (pronounced like a combination of alcohol and almanac). Well, my level of involvement since then has gone to a whole new level.
I can’t say exactly to what level, as me and the owners are still in negotiations, but let’s just say it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m not going to pass it up.
Time for me has been filled with shooting food, drinks, product, and whatever else passes in front of my camera and has to do with wine, spirits, beer, restaurants and bars. There has been a steep learning curve but seeing the final image on my screen has made it all worth it.
I’ve also managed to fit in some fun shoots but I can’t post those until they get back to me with approval. It’s one thing to do a fashion shoot or an artistic shoot where beauty or expression is the goal but it’s a completely different animal when it comes to photographing someone who is performing a skilled art where posture and form must be perfect or it reflects badly upon them. The teaser…it’s my Tai Chi teacher going through some forms.
The pictures I do have for you this time are from last weekend when my friends and I attended a pub crawl encompassing 15 bars and almost 3000 people.
It was an amazing sight seeing thousands of green shirt clad people wandering the streets of Milwaukee celebrating (a little early) St. Patrick’s day.
I won’t give you a drink count but let’s just say after 2 weeks with my nose to the grindstone the pub crawl was a welcome diversion. (The picture below is of my friends wife and another friends girlfriend)
So, be patient. More interesting stories and photos will be posted in the coming days/weeks.

Good to hear mike
