‘Hey Wessel, we need to head to Liquid Johnny’s for an ad shoot.’ My buddy and now business partner Brian said to me. I looked up from my laptop on which I had been studiously editing an article. ‘Mmmm, hmmm….okay,’ I replied. Stuff had been flying at me fast and hard over the last couple weeks so a spur of the moment photo shoot didn’t even phase me. Food, people, places, they all seemed to blur together before my lens. Relaxing in my seat at INdustri Café located in downtown Milwaukee late one Sunday morning sipping on a cup of delicious locally roasted coffee I checked through the pictures I had just shot of our meal. Though my stomach felt bloated the food shots flickering by on the screen rekindled my appetite. ‘Man that was tasty,’ I said with a sigh wishing for just a little more space to finish off the chips on my plate. ‘Hey Wessel, what’re you up to?’ my friend Brian West, owner and operator of Alcoholmanac magazine, asked me in a jovial voice over the cell phone. I leaned back in my chair taking my eyes off the monitor to which they had been affixed for the last couple hours and let them stray to the snowy outdoors. ‘Not too much. Why?’ There was a short tentative pause, ‘how would you like to take some pictures of a bartender for me?’ |
