A rough outline of things to come

My 'world' for the next six or so months

I can’t even begin to describe how crazy this last month has been (which hopefully explains my lack of posts). The constant whirlwind of furious activity as I begin to sever connections and pull up roots has left me, oddly enough, rather invigorated. Those few moments of peace I have where my mind isn’t calculating the next move are filled with a strong sense of fulfillment and excitement (not to mention apprehension). The vague vision that formed in my head oh so many months ago is becoming a reality as I put stone after stone into the foundation underneath the cloud holding up my dream.

The cowardly lion

Fear, it is one of our most basic and deep emotions that no matter how hard we try we cannot escape from. It cause us to freeze in place or flee and basically lose control of our senses. When people hear that I am about to forsake a comfortable life and throw myself into the unknown their first reaction is usually, wow, followed by the impression that I most have some sort of courage not found in the common person. The face that I put up shows confidence and I assure people that there is nothing hard about it but underneath that mask I’m scared as hell.

The thundering sound of footsteps

Can you hear them, the thundering sound of footsteps as crowds of people rush to come and visit my website, look at my photography, read my stories and support me on my upcoming journey?  I certainly can.  In the last week or so I have put up signposts all over the place leading back to my home base.  I’ve finally begun to use the skills that I’ve developed over the last two years to accomplish something. Everything that I have learned about social media is being applied to one end, the success of my trip.
