Keeping busy

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me and because of that the number of times I post a week has dropped like a rock.  It’s not that I don’t have anything to write about or the time to write it’s just that most of the content I can’t post until it’s been sent to print.  ‘Sent to print’ you ask?  Yes, sent to print.  A few posts back I told y’all that an article I’d written had been published in a local magazine, Alcoholmanac (pronounced like a combination of alcohol and almanac).  Well, my level of involvement since then has gone to a whole new level.

Winter musings

What’s worse then having one leg soaked up to the knee in freezing cold water while you are wandering around outside in a snow covered nature preserve trying to take photographs?  Simple, having both legs soaked up to the knee in freezing cold water.  Did that sloshy feeling in my boots as I gingerly stepped on the thinning ice send me running home for hot chocolate and dry socks?  Heck no.

Wisconsin wandering

“Okay, enough of this” I said pushing closed the lid of my aging laptop.  Just outside my window the snowy yet peaceful scenery was illuminated by a cheerful sun and outlined in vivid blue.  How many hours had passed since I first started tapping away on my keyboard I had no idea but enough was enough.”  Picking up my phone with a plan in mind I dialed my buddy Ben and began to pack my camera bag.
