Training wheels

When our parents gave us our first bike as children they wanted to make sure that we could use it without killing ourselves. How they did that was training wheels. A simple device that allowed us to get used to riding a bike without the risk of falling down. Before taking on large projects a similar device is needed to ensure, or at least increase the probability of success.

Default options…

One hundred and one days left and counting before my contract on my house, my job and basically my life here in Japan run out. It’s a strange feeling when I actually write down the number of days left. It makes me realize that there is only a finite amount of time and if I don’t get my arse and keep my arse in gear that final day will arrive and I won’t be ready. Procrastination is not an option.

A greater purpose

It hit me like a ton of bricks this morning as I was walking to work. Through a set of very odd circumstances I was in a pretty foul mood and so the gears in my head were whirring furiously. Thinking about work, thinking about my trip, thinking about me when I suddenly wondered, why am I doing it all?
